Named One of the Nation's Top 10 Online Fintech Programs

Kennesaw State University's Certificate in Financial Technology was recognized as one of the top ten in the country by FintechDegrees.org in their Guide to the Nation's Best Online Fintech Certificate Programs for 2024. KSU's program was named No. 10 on the list, with the feature highlighting the University's proximity to Atlanta, one of the nation's financial transaction hubs.

Payment processing has become increasingly complex thanks to new technologies that give businesses and consumers more ways than ever to initiate transactions. The result is that digital payment processing is now a multi-billion-dollar industry. By offering a Master of Science in Digital Payment Technologies and partnering with The Georgia Fintech Academy on an undergraduate minor and undergraduate certificate, Kennesaw State University is preparing a new generation of leaders to manage a new generation of payments.

Fintech@KSU’s mission is to produce the next generation of cross-disciplinary educated innovators ready to shape the digital payment industry's future.

We do this through the following strategies:

Alignment of academic units in cross disciplinary talent development,

Targeting hands-on, experiential learning in cooperation with industry, and

Increasing awareness among all stakeholders about potential fintech sector opportunities.

What is Digital Payments?

Digital payments refers to a wide range of technologies that make electronic banking possible, including everything from gift cards, debit cards, credit cards, ATMs, and the phone apps you use to electronically transfer money to your friends or pay bills. Digital payment allows you to invest, insure, and bank from your mobile device without ever setting foot in a building. Courses in digital payments prepare you for a high-demand career in areas such as information technology, cybersecurity, data science, and business.
